Century City is a famous neighborhood in the Los Angeles district in California. It is also known to be the home of the 20th Century Fox Studio. It is a business district and is the center for employment having distinctive skyscrapers.
The City has a high rise in hotels, condos, and restaurants, having a rich power lunching entertainment industry.
Cowboy actor Tom Mix first owned the City and was later turned into a backlot of Fox studios. However, in 1961, 180 acres of land got sold; hence, nearly two years later, in 1963 first building, the Gateway West Building was built.
Santa Monica Boulevard bounds the City, Beverly Hills, Pico Boulevard, and Century Park West in the north, east, south, and west. Beverly Hills, Cheviot Hills, West Los Angeles, and Westwood are the neighboring cities of Century City.
The American Community Survey estimated 2,235 population density in Century City in 2017, having 46 a median age. However, 65 is the highest percentage population while having 11.9% military veterans.
The City is ethnically not diverse, having the highest percentage of whites, about 82.5 %. Whereas Asians, Blacks, and Latinos are significantly few. Education-wise, Century City has a higher rate (55%) of residents aged 25 or above who have earned four-year degrees. Moreover, three private schools located in the vicinity fall under Los Angeles Unified School District.
Westfield Century City is an outdoor shopping complex with posh retailers. That contributes significantly to the economy of the City along with Fox Studio.
